Hello and welcome to another edition of Campus Beat! In this episode, we have the privilege of chatting with Niki Boytchuk Hale, Kyla Gibson, Tara Rezvan, and Meena Waseem, this year’s Agnes Benedickson Tricolour Award Winners!
Named in honour of Dr. Agnes Benidickson, former Chancellor of Queen’s University from 1980 to 1996, the Agnes Benidickson Tricolour Award (ABTA) and induction into the Tricolour Society is the highest tribute that can be paid to a Queen’s University student for distinguished service, leadership, character, and community impact during their time at Queen’s.
Outgoing Queen’s Rector Owen Crawford-Lem has issued an invitation to the Tricolour Awards and induction gala to be held at the University Club on April 5th. CFRC will also be live broadcasting this historic occasion for listeners near and far on its airwaves locally at 101.9 FM in Kingston and via webstream at CFRC.ca. Learn more by visiting queensu.ca/alumni about how to register for the award ceremony and learn more about the tricolour awards through the Office of the Rector website at queensu.ca/rector.
Let’s dive in now to our chat with Niki, Meena, Kyla and Tara and learn more about their significant impacts on queen’s university life and culture. We hope you enjoy the episode.
